The Vettukad Church Christ the King Feast 2026 will take place from November 13 to 22 at Madre de Deus Church, Vettukad, Thiruvananthapuram. Dating back to the 15th century, the church is an important pilgrimage centre with deep historical and cultural significance for the local Christian community.
The 10-day celebration begins with the traditional flag hoisting (Kodiyettam) on November 13 and concludes with the Solemnity of Christ the King on November 22. The festival brings together devotees for religious and cultural celebrations.
Entry is free, and visitors can voluntarily purchase traditional offerings such as candles, flowers and oil. The final weekend attracts large crowds, so weekday mornings are preferable for a quieter visit. Traffic restrictions and diversions are expected around the coastal stretch during peak festival days. Special KSRTC festival shuttles operate to help devotees reach the church, with designated city parking grounds recommended for private vehicle users. Visitors should plan their travel accordingly.
