An Architectural Treasure Near the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Built in the 1840s by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, Kuthiramalika Palace is also known as the “Horse Palace.” The name comes from the 122 wooden horse carvings featured along the palace walls. The structure is a fine example of traditional Kerala architecture, noted for its detailed woodwork.

Inside the palace museum, visitors can see royal belongings, traditional furniture, Belgian mirrors, and a rare throne crafted from elephant tusks.
