Sangeetha Perumkanavu is a special tribute event celebrating 50 years of Ilaiyaraaja as one of India's most influential music composers. Organised by Arivu Chamoogam, a progressive social justice group from Tamil Nadu, the programme will be held at the Press Club Hall in Thiruvananthapuram on 4 July 2026. The event will feature talks, live musical performances, and a collective listening session of "First Movement of Valiant," the Western classical symphony composed by Ilaiyaraaja earlier this year. Distinguished guests include Ishaan Dev, Achuthsankar S. Nair, and Joby. The gathering offers music lovers in Thiruvananthapuram an opportunity to honour Ilaiyaraaja's remarkable contribution to Indian cinema and contemporary music while experiencing performances and discussions celebrating his enduring musical legacy.
